ROLE AT THE BROOKS GROUP
Now serving as Chairperson and CEO, Nancy helped her husband (and The Brooks Group’s founder) Bill Brooks build The Brooks Group from a start-up seminar business in the mid-1970’s into the top-notch training and consulting company it has become today. After Bill’s death, Nancy stepped up to provide guidance to the organization.
Today, in her formal role as Chairperson and CEO, she continues to provide leadership for The Brooks Group by ensuring that the business continues to provide world-class service to its clients. Nancy is committed to keeping The Brooks Group a client-focused, sales- and marketing-oriented family-run business that delivers highly sought-after sales training and consulting services.
Nancy is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia. After graduating, she worked for Mary Baldwin’s admissions office. While in that role, she met and married the neighboring Military Academy’s football coach, Bill Brooks. She went on to earn a Master’s Degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo while Bill coached the Golden Griffins of Canisius College.
A successful entrepreneur in her own right, Nancy’s business acumen translates well into The Brooks Group. In the mid-1990’s, Nancy took her passion for art to another level when she launched Sleepin’ Dog Enterprises, a fused-glass art studio. That business continues to thrive just around the corner from The Brooks Group’s corporate headquarters.
Nancy’s passion for her dogs (Potus, Red Dog, and Isis) is matched only by her love of art. When she’s not at The Brooks Group, Nancy is melting highly sought-after functional fused-glass pieces for Sleepin’ Dog.
