Bill, good thought provoking discussion. Agreed with everything except the pesistence slam. Persistence is our company’s underlying motto (got it from Calvin Coolige). Persistence has its place in follow-up with customers and in making sure problems are worked through to the customer’s satisfaction. I agree you never want to appear desperate and you must have a good reason to follow-up. I don’t like to hear my sales group use the word “touch base” but gauging reaction to a proposal or making sure customer understood its elements is important. Keep up the good work.
