Q: How to be fairly compensated for bringing a partner into our business that would increase our gross profits by $345,000,000.00 ?.
Most organizations expect their people to want to bring in top talent to their company without expecting direct compensation (that would set a bad precedent.) By being a good team player you could possibly get a closer look for the next promotion (if you're doing a great job), an elevated stature in the company or maybe a year end bonus because of the increased results. I would be very uncomfortable with an employee who would come to me wanting compensation for recommending someone who would benefit the entire organization.
Stock opt. would be nice
I think your rewards will be coming, something like that does not go unnoticed. Has there been any precedent for compensation in your company for hiring?
I was thinking 3 to 5 % more of the company, 5 % stock opt. plus 5 % of net profits from that partnership.
